Student Fellows
At NCUC, there are several types of fellowships available. Community and Ad Hoc Fellows are supervised by the RSE team and support various events across the college. We also run a subject-specific fellowship programme, where staff can apply for can apply for RSE bursaries to enable HE students to undertake or support initiatives linked to retention, recruitment, and results. These subject-specific fellowships are supervised by staff, and are designed to complement degree studies by helping students develop employability and work-based skills.
Current Fellowship opportunities include managing the social media pages for their course, working with Newcastle College’s digital marketing department, and collaborating with staff to promote internal progression to NCUC, and much more. Alongside fellowship duties and meetings, student fellows are expected to attend relevant Fellowship Training, support the NCUC Student Conference, apply for the BCUR and Posters in Parliament, and complete Fellowship logbooks for the RSE team.
The Fellowship programme runs throughout the academic year, from September to May with bursaries available, depending on responsibilities. Please contact the RSE Team for further information.

We are currently accepting proposals for the subject-specific fellowships for the 2025-2026 academic year. To submit a proposal, please complete the Fellowship Proposal Form. The deadline for submissions is Friday the 18th of April. Staff who are currently supervising Fellowships and want to continue them next year must also submit an application form for consideration.
